With a substantial 6" x 4" profile, these mantels give you the appearance of a traditional chunky timber beam while being considerably lighter than a comparable solid oak mantel.
A Lighter Alternative to Oak
If you're concerned about the weight of a heavy oak beam, this rustic timber mantel is a great alternative.
Its lower weight makes it particularly useful where wall construction or suitable fixing points make fitting a very heavy solid oak mantel impractical. You still get the chunky appearance and natural character of real timber without the considerable weight of an equivalent oak beam.
Please note: the correct fixings must always be selected for your particular wall construction and the weight of the mantel.

Every mantel is individually prepared and finished by hand in our Northumberland workshop. We retain the knots, grain and natural variations that give rustic timber its character, so no two mantels will ever look exactly the same.
The edges are softly rounded, taking away the sharp, square appearance of a machined beam and giving the mantel a more traditional, aged feel.
