Handmade in our Northumberland workshop from beautiful solid Northumbrian larch, this chunky timber fireplace mantel is designed to give your fireplace a traditional, rustic appearance.
Each mantel is individually made and features our heavily worked edge finish. Rather than excessively distressing the entire beam, we concentrate the hand working around the edges and corners. This creates an aged, characterful appearance while still allowing the beautiful natural grain, knots and features of the larch to stand out.
6" (150mm) high × 4" (100mm) deep
The 6-inch face is vertical, with the mantel projecting approximately 4 inches from the wall.
Available in a range of lengths from 100cm up to 240cm.
Custom lengths are also available — if you require a particular size up to 240cm, please contact us.
Every mantel is prepared, worked and finished by hand in our Northumberland workshop.
The edges and corners are individually worked to produce a rustic appearance that looks fantastic above stone fireplaces, wood-burning stoves and traditional fire surrounds, and is equally at home in cottages, farmhouses and modern country-style interiors.
Northumbrian larch has a beautiful pronounced grain and warm natural character, making it an excellent alternative to oak for customers wanting a substantial solid timber mantel.
The character of the timber is deliberately retained rather than hidden, giving every mantel its own individual appearance.
Fittings are included with your mantel, allowing it to be installed with a clean floating appearance without visible brackets.
As this is genuine solid timber, no two mantels will ever be identical.
Knots, grain patterns, colour variations, small splits, shakes and other natural markings are normal characteristics of real timber and form part of the character of the finished mantel.
The mantel you receive will therefore have its own unique grain and features rather than being an exact copy of the timber shown in the photographs.
