Made from a substantial 6" x 6" solid oak beam, each mantel is carefully worked by hand to create an aged, time-worn appearance. The surface is deliberately textured and distressed to bring out the beautiful natural grain, knots, splits and character of the oak, creating the appearance of a beam that has been part of the building for generations.
The 6" x 6" size gives you a chunky, substantial solid-oak mantel without the extra bulk of our larger 8" x 8" beams, making it an excellent choice for both medium and larger fireplaces.
Because we use genuine solid timber, no two mantels will ever be identical. Knots, grain patterns, shakes, splits and other natural features are part of the character of the oak and make every mantel completely individual.
As this is a genuine natural timber product, dimensions, colour, grain, knots, splits and character will vary from piece to piece. These variations aren't defects — they're part of what makes every solid oak mantel unique.
