Slimline Rustic Timber Mantel – Lightweight Design for Plasterboard Walls

A beautiful solid rustic timber mantel, handmade in our Northumberland workshop and designed specifically for homes where a traditional heavy oak beam may not be suitable.

With its slim 8-inch high × 2-inch deep profile, this mantel gives you the substantial appearance of a traditional fireplace beam while projecting only around 2 inches from the wall.

Ideal for Plasterboard & Modern Homes

Traditional chunky oak mantels can be extremely heavy and aren't always practical in modern properties with plasterboard or stud walls.

Our slimline mantel is made from carefully selected solid pine or Northumbrian larch, depending on available stocks, providing the warmth and character of genuine solid timber while being considerably lighter than a comparable solid oak beam.

Its shallow 2-inch depth also keeps the overall weight down, making it an excellent option for new-build properties, plasterboard walls and other situations where a heavy oak mantel isn't desirable.

Every mantel is made from genuine solid wood, selected for its natural character. Knots, grain patterns, colour variation and other natural markings make every piece completely individual.

Each mantel is handmade and finished in Northumberland, rather than being a mass-produced imitation or veneered product.

Every mantel is individually prepared, finished and made to order in our Northumberland workshop.

If you love the appearance of a substantial rustic fireplace mantel but don't have a solid masonry wall capable of comfortably supporting a traditional heavy oak beam, our lightweight slimline design offers a practical alternative without losing the character of real timber.

Please note: Wall construction and fixings vary. Suitable fixings must be chosen for your particular wall type, and the mantel should be securely fitted to appropriate structural support where required.
